I hope my story can give you some hope

hii , I’ve had chronic hives since February 2019. I’ve seen numerous doctors who have been absolutely no help. I finally got into an allergist/immunologist. I saw him on the 27th of August. I went over my medical history and when I mentioned my IUD ( Skyla) he stopped and said he wants me to get it out immediately. So, the next day I had it removed. I’m happy to say I can see a light at the end of the tunnel! I still have a few spots appear occasionally but nowhere near the pictures below (prior to having the IUD removed). I’ve been able to introduce triggers back into my life and diet with no face/mouth swelling or a body full of hives! 🙌🏼 I have been waiting for my first menstrual cycle (sorry fellas, tmi) to see if it gets worse or better. I started yesterday and got a few spots but I’m completely clear today! I’ve been trying not to get my hopes up just for disappointment but I feel like this is a huge accomplishment! I’m thankful to have found a doctor that listened to me when I mentioned that I felt like it could be my IUD & I’m thankful for the doctors who ignored my suggestions because it led me to my specialist. I had the iud for 8 months before any hives appeared. So for those suffering, I hope my story can give you some hope and please consider all the possibilities! Be an advocate for yourself and find yourself a doctor that will advocate for you. If you’ve made it this long through my story, thank you! I don’t know how I would have made it the last 8 months without this group. Happy Monday folks!
