I itch so much and can’t resist scratching

So either my medicine is starting to not work, or stress is making it worse. I itch so much and can’t resist scratching. I look like a sunburned crazy person :(. I’m looking forward to my appointment with my allergist tomorrow, but my hopes are not high.

Tibby Hollingsworth Omg! I am so sorry! I hope you feel better

Happy Jack Ouch =( that sucks! I hope the allergist has something good to say!

Yvonne Visée Clohessy Yikes, what medicine are you on?

Courtney Renee This is new for me (going on 2 months now), so currently taking Singular, Zyrtec and Hydroxyzine. But I have an appointment with doc today and will see if she changes anything up. I am still itching today around my ankles and on my collarbone (which is super awesome and visible while at work).

Yvonne Visée Clohessy Antihistamines didn’t work for me, I’m still on them but with an immunosuppressant. Xolair also didn’t work for me. Good luck with your drs visit today.

Courtney Renee Yvonne Visée Clohessy Yeah, the antihistamines did take care of the itch for a while, but I would still hive if I bumped against stuff or scratched accidentally. Now the itch feels like it’s coming back. After reading a bunch of the posts here, I don’t have high expectations of figuring out what’s causing thisc but I do hope to at least be able to manage it somewhat. It’s annoying and embarrassing.

Courtney Renee Do you ever get nauseous? I’ve been getting nauseous every day for the past week and change. I’m wondering if it’s from the medicine or whatever is causing the hives.

Yvonne Visée Clohessy no, not nauseous

Tammy Kruger Stupid hives. I feel the same at the moment. Hope your meds will work better than mine3

Tammy Kruger Be strong and good luck with your appointment. I hope you receive the news of it been an allergy you can cut out asp.

Courtney Renee Thanks, I hope so too.

Courtney Renee Doc says it’s officially chronic urticaria and I’ve had pressure urticaria too. They have to do blood work and rule out systemic stuff like kidneys, thyroid and any autoimmune diseases. She is increasing the meds I take for it to try and get the hives under control. So now I’m on Allegra, Zyrtec, Hydroxyzine, Singular and Zantac for my stomach. She told me if my blood work comes back normal and insurance doesn’t give me crapc we might try the Xolair shot thing if this cocktail doesn’t work.

Evelyn Brethour Great plan. All the best to you!

Evelyn Brethour You have to resist. The chemicals released damage nerves, tissue. You don’t want to have to be on Lyrica (one, it is very expensive, two it dulls your head, three, you sometimes cannot operate machinery).
