I need some diet advise.

I am just feeling desperate for a change

Ok hive mind, I need some diet advise. I think most of you would understand my unique challenges more than others.
I have cold hives, and heat hives- so just about any amount of physical activity will result in a flair up. I’m also allergic to a million things. Letice, raspberries, black berries, all mellons and pumpkin, I’m food sensitive to dairy as well as being lactose intolerant.(I only have a few tbs of lactaide in coffee every day) I feel like every diet is just going to kill me.
But I have 3 kids, the youngest is almost 10 months old and I have gained SO MUCH weight. I know I’m not the largest person but I feel like crap. The extra lbs are impacting my back and asthma.
I guess I’m just feeling desperate for a change. I just don’t know where to start.

Research elimination diets or autoimmune paleo diets. Stay away from the foods that affect you. Stick to organic chicken and salmon, brown rice, organic produce. My aunt has sever allergies. She literally eats chicken, rice every day, oatmeal and apples. And she uses rice cakes for everything. Look at brown rice bread too.

This is a commitment. There’s no fast food, very few carbs/bread/pasta. No sugar, juice, alcohol. But if you want to feel better, it’s worth it. I’ve been on an elimination diet for 6 days: Salmon with two pieces of rice bread with avocado for breakfast, chicken and veggies for lunch/dinner, dairy-free/sugar-free yogurt with frozen fruit, luna bars, and apples with almond butter for snacks.

Allison Seib i too am doing an elimination diet and I just read that avocados are high in histamine (I love avocados) so I am trying to not eat those now too)

Allison Aileen
Noel Saullo Interesting! I’m not reacting to them. I haven’t necessarily eliminated foods high in histamine yet. This is what I think is going on, with me at least: eating too much overly processed, fried or sugary foods creates this imbalance in your body. So by cutting these things out, and focusing on whole foods, I’m hoping things reset itself. We may be reacting to foods high in histamines b/c our bodies are working overtime to filter all that other junk out. But if you’re not eating that other junk, I’m hoping the healthy whole foods cause my body to work normally. Does that make sense? I may eventually begin to eliminate high-histamine foods, but for now, I can’t think about cutting avocados. I love them too much. I have one daily. I’m struggling by cutting citrus fruits and nightshades out at this point. OMG I love me some lemon water… miss lemons so much right now.

I actually don’t normally eat processed foods. But lately I have been just so defeated I’ve given up

Heather Wagner It’s so hard. And with little ones, I’m sure it’s even harder. I have felt so much better, more energy and happier in just 6 days by doing an elimination diet. I just did a google search. It takes a little planning, but you can do it. Here’s another tip: Do you have an instapot? If you don’t, get one! It is a time saver! I make salmon every day for breakfast, it’s done in less than 10 minutes from frozen to cooked in my instapot. You can make so many things, and it’s like a crockpot, you just make your meal, cook and voila done! just so much quicker. Any chance you could be suffering from anxiety/depression? MAny ppl will be critical and negative when it comes to medication, but I’ve been on it years, even before I was diagnosed with CIU. Once you find the right combo and dose, it can improve your life immensely. Don’t give up, you’ve got this!

Allison Seib I am having a hard time with anxiety and depression actually

My hives have yet to go away but because I am eating better and remaining positive I am feeling better. I know we can beat this. I just got this book in the mail and I will start reading and posting any good finds from it!

Heather Wagner I know there’s a stigma with depression and anxiety, but it’s totally normal. Meds aren’t for everyone, but I also recommend seeing a therapist. I’ve been in and out of it my whole life until my last therapist. For me, it was just having someone who was unbiased listen to me and help me see things differently. Impacted my whole life. If you can find someone who supports you like that, it’s totally worth it. And my insurance covered it b/c it’s preventative medicine!

I am receiving a book today called Liver Rescue by Anthony Williams. He is known as the medical medium and he has answers for all sorts of autoimmune issues. These start in our gut and liver. I plan to follow what he says and I know he is doing big 30 day celery juice 1000’s all over the world and the benefits And the issues it is helping see m amazing (all from drinking celery juice every morning) I plan to start this in the next couple of days when my juicer arrives. I feel your pain and hope find some relief. (It is so hard with kids to eat right and stay on track one give yourself the care you need!)

I found it interesting to read that histamine helps tell the body it’s full. Taking so many antihistamines means we all have to be more mindful. I highly recommend checking out Reddit r loseit. There are no gimmicks or tricks. Simply track your calories and weight.

Abby Hanson I have lost so much weight in the past from calorie counting. It works!

Allison Seib me too!

Virtual 🤗 hugs to you. I’ve gained weight too and as a short person, it’s sucks big time. I have dermatographia/pressure hives so I don’t think food affects my hives. I’ve eaten and not eaten things and no difference. However, I’m trying the no-dinner diet with a modification – I’ll have 2 modest pieces of fruit for dinner. Oatmeal for breakfast and salad with a protein at lunch. Try taking a 30 minute walk outside to clear your head and start moving. You can do it!!!

Allison Aileen
Make sure you’re eating at least 1200 calories a day or you are going to either unintentionally starve your body and won’t lose weight (if that’s your goal). Or, your cravings could make you cave and eat unhealthy foods. But I love fasting! I don’t eat after 7 p.m. and I eat again around 9-10 a.m. It works wonders for your mid-section!
