I’m currently at a loss with hives.
I’m currently at a loss with hives, they started whilst taking doxycycline for a severe chest infection and have continued. I’m taking prednisolone and loratadine. Trying to find a way to help my body to calm down! They seem to occur in phases, at the moment worse on my legs.
Have you tried pure virgin coconut oil it has to be the kind that’s organic extra virgin cold pressed and unrefined it’s the one that you have to break down it’s the white creamy chunks and then break it down it turns into an oil but when I had hives really bad like that I would rub some on them within 10 minutes they go flat they turn a darker red and then they go away it help sue them I was putting coconut oil on all day cuz I decided I’d rather do that then put steroid cream on all day which is only supposed to be used twice a day because it can cause thin skin an extra bruising… I just posted on here how my hives are actually starting to go away even though they’re still here and I wrote everything that I did to get rid of them I don’t know where that post will be there for you to read it though somewhere in the thread make sure you’re drinking plenty of water to and the first thing you need to do is get your thyroid checked and your vitamin D
Thankyou! I will try the coconut oil for sure, I found that my daughters excema emollient really helped. I try to drink 2-3 litres of water a day, my thyroid function is normal but I might supplement the vitamin D. I so appreciate all of the comments this has really thrown me, have never experienced anything like it. I am trying gluten free as a first stage of avoiding histamine provoking foods so will see if that has any impact. I’m guessing I have to give my body all the help I can.
Take prebiotic to calm your system after the antibiotics
Yes am doing that x
Turmeric (golden milk), berries, lots of greens. Reduce or cut out processed foods, sugar, oil, and salt.
Try upping your vitamin d3 get a good organic vit d 3 and dr bronners tea tree oil soap. Take a cold shower with the dr bronners it was the only thing that helped me because I took zero medication due to nursing and being more natural. It will itch more after you get out of the shower for about 20 min but after that you should feel soooooo much better for several hours
I’m looking into vitamin D but it will be D2 as I am vegan 🙂
I am currently testing a French cream called Argencid and it calms down the itching
Oh my I feel for you, I have had this for 9 years now, and the only thing that has completely cleared it up is xolair injections, I found that a menthol cream helped, the highest concentration I could find was 20% menthol, but when I mean “helped” I was sat there rubbing it in about every 15 min, it kept me sane for a while, really wish you luck x
